Darren Stopler at Westover Nissan

Darren Stopler started his Apprenticeship at Westover Nissan working in their workshop, as well as one day a week at Paragon’s motor workshop in Bournemouth.

Westover Nissan, part of the Westover Group, is one of the South’s largest independent car dealer groups, with 17 showrooms (as well as parts, service and accident repair centres) across Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire. After successfully completing the Apprenticeship, Darren went on to finish his Advanced Apprenticeship in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.

Darren found the combination of working at a real job and training at the same time really worthwhile. “Being in the workshop was great. I learnt so much from the mechanics they were really friendly and helped me to learn more complex jobs. It was also excellent to earn money at the same time.”

Darren’s day-to-day role involves liaising with customers, servicing cars, using electronic test equipment and road testing.
