Training for Human Resources staff delivered locally by the Paragon Skills for Industry is scheduled for January 2009 and is already in high demand by local employers and those working in a personnel function as part of their current job role.
The group of students will complete their Certificate in Personnel Practice (CPP) in the Autumn of 2009, with successful candidates eligible for Associate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
Meeting at the Keep Military Museum in Dorchester for one afternoon a week for 24 weeks, plus 4 full-days, the course provides participants with an opportunity to develop and practice a range of key personnel functions, including short-listing and interviewing, HR skills which can be directly transferred into the workplace with confidence.
The real-life experiences students have brought to the course are proving valuable in group discussions, role-playing and in working individually on practical assignments. Nationally accredited, this popular foundation course is essential for those wishing to develop their personnel/HR skills.
Jessica Williams, who currently works for WDDC and is a past CPP student, said: “This is an excellent course to guide you on the correct procedures with regard to the employment law and general personnel issues. It is an ideal opportunity to gain tips and advice and share good practice with fellow students and is a valuable qualification for anyone wishing to establish a career in HR.”
