As an employer you will be committed to developing your greatest asset – your workforce. Developing their talents will help to secure the future skill needs of your business.
The efficient running of your business can depend heavily on having well trained, reliable and motivated staff, but their day-to-day technical skills, must now also be enhanced by financial and managerial or supervisory skills.
A Motor Apprenticeship will help build the right skills, as Apprenticeships have been designed by employers to meet the needs of the industry, and have been developed to help create the managers of the future.
What does an Apprenticeship include?
A Motor Apprenticeship includes:
- A Motor Industry NVQ at Level 2
- Key Skills in Communication, Application of Number and Information Technology at Level 1
- A Motor Technical Certificate at Level 2
Technical Certificates focus on the knowledge and understanding that underpins the NVQ, and are provided through a programme of off-the-job training. Apprentices will also learn about Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR).

- Carrying out routine vehicle maintenance – conducting scheduled examinations, making adjustments to, or replacing items and components
- Fault finding – identifying mechanical faults

You will also select from a wide range of optional units in order to tailor the Apprenticeship to the requirements of your company.
