This award introduces the knowledge required to ensure the business has an adequate range of stock to meet customer requirements. It introduces the concepts of selecting the range, and develops an understanding of the impact the range has upon sales and profits.

Entry requirements:

Participants should ideally be in employment in a retail environment.

Course Aims:

On completing this qualification, participants will understand:

  • How to select a range of products and services to meet customer requirements
  • How to produce a detailed range plan containing data on width and depth of stock required
  • How to analyse and use information to forecast sales and the implications for profit
  • The importance of seasonal trends
  • Concepts of displaying the range effectively
