This qualification is suitable for those seeking recognition of their competence in one or more of a wide variety of marine engineering installation or commissioning activities such as engines, transmissions, steering, electrical generators and charging systems.

Anyone working in a marine engineering installing or commissioning environment that has the potential to attain the standards required for this qualification.
Entry requirements:
Participants should be occupied in the installation or commissioning of marine equipment and systems and be motivated and enthusiastic with a high level of technical skill and knowledge in that activity.
Course Aims:
Participants will:
- Gain recognition for any existing skills, knowledge and understanding appropriate to the activity
- Be able to demonstrate safe working practices and procedures at all times
- Be able to work to instructions with a minimum of supervision, taking personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of the work they carry out.
Progression:
Supervisory or management qualifications.
Duration:
Up to 2 years
