Performing Engineering Operations NVQ Level 1

This qualification is designed to give new entrants into engineering occupations, a basic understanding of safety and general engineering practices. The PEO offers a choice of engineering subjects to suit the widest possible range of needs of both employer and employee.

Who will benefit:

Anyone responsible for the day-to-day running of equipment and the quality of work they produce, but where the role requires them to refer problems to a supervisor.

Entry requirements:

Participants should be working in an engineering environment, be motivated and enthusiastic with good mechanical aptitude.

Course Aims:

Participants will:

  • Gain a basic understanding of safety and requirements of personal protection equipment,
  • Be able to recognise engineering materials and processes
  • Use industrial standard communication methods such as engineering drawings

Duration:

Up to 12 months
