Introduction to Computer Numerical Control (CNC)

The course is designed to provide the candidate with a good level of understanding to interpret component specifications and considerations when planning a part program. Program writing will provide techniques to improve efficiency and setting up of communication between computer and machine tools for downloading data to enable production of a component.

Who will benefit:

Any person involved in an engineering production function either machine shop or design who needs their skills upgraded.

Entry requirements:

Preferably Level 2 machining skills

Participants will be able to:

  • Plan Production of Part Program
  • Write and Prove a Part Program
  • Produce a Component by use of a Part Program
  • Document a Part Program

Duration:

6-Week Evening Course, 3 Hours/ Week
