Moving and Handling

Under the manual handling operations regulations 1992, Employers must provide suitable training for their employees. Many companies are under the impression that this does not apply to them because they are in primarily an office environment. This is a misconception that can have serious consequences. Most back and spinal pain is caused by continual bad lifting, twisting and stretching and not single trauma injuries.

Who will benefit:

Anyone working within a care setting where there are clients that will need assistance with moving either using a hoist or other lifting or moving aids.

Entry requirements:

None

Course Aims:

To give all employees an understanding of the safe way to lift objects and or clients using the equipment supplied in Care/Nursing to assist with the safe movement of the client.

Progression:

None

Duration:

4 Hours (half day session)

Courses are subject to minimum number participation. Bespoke training is available in all courses subject to agreement
